Based at our therapy centre in Blaenavon, our private counselling service offers affordable one-to-one sessions to individuals who require the intervention of a talking therapy. We are also able to offer Reiki.
Counselling is often used to help manage, and sometimes to treat, emotional problems and mental health issues. We offer counselling on a number of issues, including but not limited to:
- Alcohol/substance use
- Family difficulties
- Suicidal thoughts/feelings
We also offer counselling via the Daniel Jones fund. This fund was set up by Daniels family and friends following his suicide in September 2014. Each year, the fund raises money to support those who may not be able to afford counselling through self-funding, enabling us to offer up to 6 free or subsidised sessions. All monies raised from this ongoing fundraising project go towards:
- Supporting those who are experiencing suicidal thoughts
- Supporting those affected by the ripple effect of suicide
- Reducing stigma associated with suicide
- Educating individuals and organisations on the subject of suicide, and suicide intervention and prevention
Whilst referrals can be made to our counselling service via GP’s or other professionals, you are also able to self-refer.
Reiki is an alternative therapy which may help promote a sense of well- being. Whilst it can be beneficial in many situations, as it is deeply relaxing, it can be especially helpful for those who may be feeling overwhelmed, or stressed. Promoting a sense of well-being, many find Reiki encourages and supports positive lifestyle choices.
